Josie Josie

Josie is a 6 year old Domestic Short Hair.  She has a beautiful sleek coat that is satiny to the touch.  Her coat color is predominantly black, with small white patches on her belly and hind paws.  She has been with me for 5 years now, and her age is purely my estimation.  Her exact origin is unknown, but I believe she became a stray after being left on our property by someone.  It was a cold January day when I first had the pleasure of making her acquaintance.  She was a small bundle of black velvet, with a soft voice.  Her mew warmed my heart, as it still does to this day.
Her name came from an old love of the word.  I thought it fit her well; it's small, positive sounding and pretty.  She seemed to like it as well and learned her name quickly.  We quickly became best of friends, as we still are now.  Fortunately, she agreed with my decision to adopt a kitten and has been a constant source of comfort and support.  She has taught Freya what it means to be a cat in our household, and continues to amaze and impress me with her ever-growing dignity, elegance, beauty, intelligence, and sense of humor.  I admire her, and will always admire her, greatly.
